蔡元培故居經過精心升級布展于2025年5月1日對外全新開放。蔡元培（1868-1940年），近代著名民主革命家、教育家，曾任光復會會長、北京大學校長、中華民國教育總長、中央研究院院長。蔡元培故居位于浙江省紹興市越城區蕭山街筆飛弄13號，是一座保存完整的紹興傳統民居，坐北朝南，有門廳、正廳和座樓，占地1856平方米，是社會科學類名人專題紀念館。故居座樓為原狀陳設與場景展示，還原了小堂前、書房、餐廳、臥室等功能空間，展示了晚清民國江南人的生活習慣與起居環境，讓觀眾能夠真切感受到厚重的歷史文化氛圍。

Cai Yuanpei’s former residence, after meticulous upgrading and exhibition, was newly opened to the public on May 1, 2025. CAI Yuanpei (1868-1940), a renowned democratic revolutionary and educator in modern times, served as the president of the Restoration Society, the president of Peking University, the Education Minister of the Republic of China, and the president of the Academia Sinica. It is located at No. 13, Bifei Lane, Xiaoshan Street, Yuecheng District, Shaoxing , Zhejiang. It is a well-preserved traditional Shaoxing residence, facing south with its back to the north. It has a foyer, a main hall and a main building, covering an area of 1,856 square meters. It is a special memorial hall for celebrities in the field of social sciences. The main building of the former residence is furnished and displayed in its original state, recreating the functional Spaces such as the small hall, study, dining room and bedroom. It showcases the living habits and living environment of the people in Jiangnan during the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China period, allowing the audience to truly feel the profound historical and cultural atmosphere.

蔡元培故居內的常設展“蔡元培與故鄉紹興”，以蔡元培在紹興的生活和蔡元培與紹興名人的交往為主要內容，展示了蔡元培的故鄉情懷以及紹興深厚的人文底蘊。在這里，人們可以了解到蔡元培從小刻苦好學、科舉入仕，戊戌變法失敗后棄官歸里、投身教育等在故鄉生活的重要人生經歷，以及蔡元培與魯迅等諸多紹興名人的交往經歷和深厚友誼，生動呈現出紹興的人杰地靈與紹興人在近代歷史發展中的獨特貢獻。

The permanent exhibition "Cai Yuanpei and His Hometown Shaoxing" in CAI Yuanpei's former residence mainly focuses on Cai Yuanpei's life in Shaoxing and his interactions with famous people in Shaoxing, showcasing CAI Yuanpei's deep affection for his hometown and the profound cultural heritage of Shaoxing. Here, people can learn about CAI Yuanpei's important life experiences in his hometown, such as his diligent study since childhood, his entry into public service through the imperial examinations, his return to his hometown after the failure of the Hundred Days' Reform and his dedication to education, as well as his interactions and deep friendships with many famous people from Shaoxing, including Lu Xun. This vividly presents the outstanding people and beautiful scenery of Shaoxing and the unique contributions of Shaoxing people to the development of modern history.
